How to design parallel style report?
kirinboy
I want to design a parallel style report which contains 2 columns, like this:
page1
1 **** | 6 ****
2 **** | 7 ****
3 **** | 8 ****
4 **** | 9 ****
5 **** | 10 ****
page2
11 **** | 16 ****
12 **** | 17 ****
13 **** | 18 ****
14 **** | 19 ****
15 **** | 20 ****
page3
...
I know set the page break interval to 5 and use filter like row["num"] < 5 || (row["num"] > 10 && row["num"] < 16) ||... can implement it,
but the count of result is not fixed. It maybe more than 1000. It's impossible to write the filter.
Is there any dynamic way to implement it?
Thanks.

These should work for your two filters:
row["num"]%10 between 1 and 5
AND
row["num"]%10 not between 1 and 5
Or something similar. Let me know.

Thanks Michael.
But if the height of each row isn't same because too much character may cause the height larger, the result may be
1 6
2 7
3 8
4 9
10
5 16
11 17
12 18
13 19
14 20

I was going off the example you listed above. If you had fixed line heights, that would work. With variable line heights, this might still be possible, but it will be much more difficult to get them to line up exactly how you're wanting. What is your BIRT version? I'll take a look in it.
