Pie Chart title null?

Hi, i am using birt version 2.6.

I wanted to make my pie chart dynamic where a boolean report variable decides whether to group my data.

i placed the logic in optional grouping with the logic

if(params["byClass"].value){
row["class"];
}else{};

in the case where byClass variable is false,
it seems that grouping is not done which is correct but the series title is displayed as null.

When I do the grouping though, the title (grouped) is displayed correctly.
Appreciate any advice in this matter!!!

You could also set the title of your chart to whatever you'd like in script when you have the case that you don't group. Let me know if you have questions regarding this.

Oh! i was not sure where to place the script and the API. 
However, i experimented on the logic i placed in the field 
if(params["byClass"].value){ 
row["class"]; 
}else{"Default title"}; 
 
and it worked!
