Orientation in PDFs not working
Mr.Reed
Hi there,
this seems to be an often discussed issue:
When generation a report as pdf the orientation as landscape will be ignored an the report is generated as portrait. In the birt designer the preview as pdf renders the pdf as wished in landscape.
But i generate the pdf via a web-application using the birt-api (Version 3.7) and the PDFRenderOption-Object.
I did the configuration in my report (orientation landscape and type a4).
Are there new insights on this issue?
Thanks in advance,
Marco

So, when running from the designer, this works correctly, but when you're running this deployed in a web application, it does not work? Is this only when calling the report using java? Or by url as well?

=> That's correct<br />

=> When running with java it is not working. When deploying the birt viewer and calling it by url, the report is initially not rendered as pdf => when exporting as pdf the report is in landscape.<br />

I have several report items (labels, tables, images). I deleted the main items: tables and images but it is still not working. So i am running out of ideas what else to try.

Hmmm. Sounds buggy to me that it works everywhere except when rendering using java. Please log a bug for this at
