1. Do any of you who did Backing store conversion did run "iwfsshrink". Iam just wondering is it really worth in doing this for the backing store of size 10GB.
2. Does it really help in saving disk space or reduce the converted backing store size by deleting the duplicate files. If so can you please post the numbers.

We did. It helps to reduce backing store size to some extent.

The amount of space recouped depends on the size and number of redundent copies of assets in the backing store. Redundent copies may have been created for various reasons - like modifying attributes (e.g. chmod/chgrp) and copying files from one area to another. I've seen backing stores reduced in size by between 40% to 60% through the use of iwfsshrink after conversion - but as I indicate above - your mileage may vary considerably depending on how much redundency there is to remove.
