Pagination using run mapping
Vathsa
Hi,
We have a requirement wherein we donot want the outer shell provided by BIRT and just render the report as a html or pdf. Now when the report is rendered as html, we would also like to have pagination supported.
Kindly let me know if any of you have tried this out and if at all this is possible(As per the definition of the run mapping it is not possible).
Thanks in advance !!!

Are you wanting the page navigation controls? Because you can turn off the nav bar etc in the frameset.

Jason,
Not exactly.. We are not using 'frameset' mapping at all. We are trying to get the navigation toolbar in the "run" mapping. We have used the frameset earlier to get the navigation toolbar, but currently we are wanting to use "run" and still get the navigation toolbar!!!
Just could not figure out how to get this with the 'run' mapping.
Vathsa.

What is the reason for using run if you want to have pagination? the run frameset uses the single phase model runAndRender without pagination. So having pagination in run would require to do some code changes to the BIRT WebViewer. The major disadvantage is that the report would be generated quite often because it would be regenerated for every page. Using the two phase model the report is generated once, after that each page is rendered only using a intermidiate format (when you switch to the corresponding page)
Like Jason said: The frameset can be modified using url parameter to deactivate some elements. Have a look at:

(section parameters)
In your case you can turn off the toolbar and the report title by using
&__toolbar=false&__showtitle=false
