global settings for all reports
intellinx
Hello,

i have created many reports (design files) and all of them have a date column.
at the moment it is displayed with the default format(which correct me if i am wrong, supposed to be based on locale, even though in my system it doesn't, **** knows why).
is there a way set a global format to the date display so i won't have to
modify each report?
and if there is, is it possible to have two settings: one for date and one for date-time?
does it matter that my required format is a custom one?

subsequent question: are there any global settings/properties to Birt and how does one access them?

Thanks,
Avi

Hi Avi,
I don't believe there is a global setting for the date format. However, if all of your dates are in data elements, you could modify the data format for each report by going to the styles section of the outline, right clicking on styles, creating a "new style", choose data from the predefined styles, and go to the formatDate section and format the date how you'd like. If you're using a data element to display your date, it should now be in this format. Hope this helps. You could probably make a style sheet and just add it to each report with these changes too. You might try it.
