Inconsistent rendering between Tomcat and Designer
jmcinor
I installed the latest version of Tomcat (7.0.23) and the Eclipse Designer (Indigo Service Release 1: Build 20110916-0149) on my Win 7 64b development box. I already had WAMP successfully running.
All indications are that everything is working, except the fact that the report (see attached) renders correctly in the Eclipse Designer but incorrectly on Tomcat. If I Export the report from the Tomcat BIRT viewer, I see the data (MySQL) is being fetched and actually looks close to what I see in the designer.
I am somewhat new to BIRT, so perhaps there is a configuration piece I missed on Tomcat. Can someone please assist?

Does this only happen in Firefox or all browsers? Is there any way you can create a report with the sample database that reproduces this issue, so that I can run it?

Thanks for your reply. I ran the report in the latest versions of Chrome, IE9, and Firefox. Only IE9 rendered the report as designed, both Firefox and Chrome failed to render the report as designed, and they failed in the same manner. It would be a bit difficult to get the db to you, but if we have to go that way, I could manage it.

so no one else is having this issue? Hummmmmmm.....

Sorry for the delayed response. Is it any report design doesn't look right? Can you create a sample report with the sample "Classic Models" database, that comes with BIRT, that shows this issue?

I created a very simple rpt off the classic model db and it worked as expected...page-break where I set it. I'm now going to rebuild my report from scratch and run it every step along the way to flush out the issue. I'll keep ya posted, but I have to own this more.

Yeah, keep me posted! I'm not seeing the same thing with my examples! Hopefully starting over does it for you!
