Table grouping help

I'm somewhat confused with groupings/suppress duplicates/etc. 
 
Here is an example of a table and what a run would look like..as far as groupings and where I don't want duplicates. I'm hoping by seeing something like this I can see how I can make any type of different layout. 
 
I've attached an .xls of what I hope to duplicate. Basically if I had a table with these columns, how could I set the groupings/suppress duplicates to do this? And what would the actual table look like in the GUI?

Here is my attempt at it (not using a sample database, I apologize) but you can get the gist of what my table looks like and it isn't working 100% because it doesn't show the phase per SPV (Underlying technology) but instead shows it per Application. Also if I removed the footer row it shows duplicates in my first column :S

Please help.

So, the screenshot above is what you want the end result to look like? Or it's what you're getting now? What does your original data look like? And what do you want it to look like? Can you post that in here? Thanks!

Yes, the screenshot is what I want the end result to look like. I've attached a .zip with a csv and example report. However, this report doesn't properly duplicate the screenshot I have above. So basically, how can I make it do that?

Take a look at this example. I just grouped on the first 4 columns and then did some custom visibility script on the last column. See the script section under the outline for the places where the script is. The only issue with this is that when using the "Drop" functionality, the report has odd spacing. I'm not sure why this is, but I haven't found a way around it as of yet. If the spacing bothers your, you can remove the grouping and just do something similar to the script that I used in the last column to do custom visibility. Hope this helps.

Right that is actually the way that I had initially done it, but I cannot have the odd spacing in my reports. I will look into the custom visibility script. Thank you.
