BIRT chart drill down

Hi,
I'm working on BIRT chart drill downs. I have done the drill downs for the chart,which on click of the chart will drill to its details which is another report design. Is there any way to drill down the details of the chart in the same report design file?

Note:The drill down in the same report design should give only the details of the part of the chart selected. It should not be like a pointer which points to the existing details in the chart.

So, you want a table with the details of a data point to pop up when you click on the chart?

Yes.. I need the table with the details of only the part of the chart which we have selected. And it should not be a separate report design file.

You should be able to pass a hidden parameter to the report design. You'd set the initial, default value to null or something. If it's that value, you'd drop the detail table from the report design in the beforeFactory method. When you click on a value in the chart, you'd drill down to the same report design, passing the value that you want the details of. With a new value in the parameter, the table will not be dropped, and you can use the parameter value passed to provide a value to a dataSet parameter in your dataset or to filter your table to only show the data you want.
