data sets issue

Hi,
I have two different data sets to be used in a single report such that the report should look like a 2-column single row table. But in a single table two different data sets cant be used. Also i tried to use a 2-column grid in which i inserted 1-column-table in each column of a grid. But now facing the issue of 'data display'. Whole data is of 138 pages. The data is cosistent in few pages, but for next few pages the data of dataset2 in second column of grid is not visible whereas in first column it is available, in last pages the the data of dataset1 in first column of grid is not visible whereas in 2nd column it is available. In short, data is inconsistent.Please suggest how to design such a report.
I m attaching the sample report ie what i exactly need to design. Also msome pages of design which i tried.

So, these are 2 datasets, with unrelated data, that you simply want to display one dataset down the left side of the page and the other dataset down the right side? Please confirm. Thanks!

Also, what is your BIRT version?

Yes, you correctly interpretated it. I m using version 3.2.21.

I m not sure about which version m i using. Its 2.6 for in xml source there was a line
<property name="createdBy">Eclipse BIRT Designer Version 2.6.0.v20100531 Build <2.6.0.v20100609-1613></property> AND first line <report xmlns="http://www.eclipse.org/birt/2005/design" version="3.2.21" id="1">. Now i m confused which is the birt version 3.2.21 or 2.6.0. Please help me to get clear about the version.

BIRT 2.6.0 is the correct one! I'll take a look and let you know what I see!

Ok. It looks as if you're running into a page breaking issue. If you set the page break interval of both tables to 0, it should fix that issue. Though, you may encounter an issue with page numbering by doing this because of a bug back in older versions. Let me know if that works for you.

Its working. Thanx. Now the no. of pages have reduced to 40 but in last 3 pages, the data for 1st table is not there might be in the datbase data may more for data set2 than data set 1. So its fine now.
If we would remove the pagebreak interval from other reports as well what impact would it have? I m asking something like what is the function of pagebreak interval?

The page break interval is a value that is set up to force a page break after a certain number of rows. The default is 40. In your version, if you use page numbering, it may not turn out correctly. I think there was a bug where the end of page events didn't get called when a natural page break occurred in fixed page size outputs. If you're using page numbers in your master page, you might look at this when you change the interval. The newest versions do not have this issue.
