Hi,

Whether BIRT invalidates the session when it intercepted to filter, because im not getting session value when i write a custom chain filter. Kidly help me out.

The viewer should not be invalidating the session. Are you setting the session variables in the same context?

No, im setting the variable in different context and getting the session variable in different context. Is there any problem when we access it?

What app server are you using? I believe by default some do not enable cross context sharing of session variables. Google: cross context session tomcat

Im using weblogic app server, i searched for the cross context for weblogic, ifound the below code in google

<session-descriptor>
<persistent-store-type>memory</persistent-store-type>
<sharing-enabled>true</sharing-enabled>
</session-descriptor>.

after applying this also im facing the same issue, like im not getting the session value when i use the BIRT viewer.

Kindly help me out on this.

Create a JSP page in the top level of the viewer:

session.setAttribute( "TestSession", "Hello I am Here" );

</BODY>
</HTML>

Create a blank report with only one data item with the following expression:

reportContext.getHttpServletRequest().getSession().getAttribute("TestSession");

deploy the report to the viewer. Run the test jsp page first and then run the report.

HI,

I have added a filter before it hits the viewer servletfilter which is in web.xml, as when request coem it will comw to my own filter, there im validating few condition based on the session objects having in session. but i try it it giving null value even though the value is in session.

Note: calling applcation is deployed in the weblogic web server and BIRT application is deployed in the ejb weblogic server .
Kindly help me out.
