pass parameter to a report
JulioC
Hi
I'm kind of new using Actuate JSAPI
What I'm trying do accomplish, is how to pass parameters to a report without using the default parameters screen.
Say we have our own parameters screen in a normal htlm page, how can we pass or link those parameters to the .rptdesign report?.
In other words it is possible to have a customized screen parameters that overwrites the default screen parameters?
We are using Actuate jsapi to create some dynamic actions but we haven't figure out how to pass parameters to the report.
We are using Iserversp3 running on a Linux environment.
Thanks in advance for any idea regarding this.

If your parameters are not set to hidden, and you do not set all of them in your report call, it will prompt you. If you set the parameter types to hidden and give them all default values, it shouldnt prompt you, and allow you to override them by passing in the parameters in the call.

Thanks again

Hi JulioC
There is a JSAPI sample "Parameterized Viewer.htm" in "Public/JSAPI Example" folder of BIRT iServer encylopedia. You can find the API documentation and several other examples here:
