Setting the Relative path
srikala
Hello
In our report design , we need to set the relative path rather than absolute path.
But in birt designer BIRT 3.7.1, its allowing us to set the relative path to a specific file than folder.
But in our case, we have multiple datasets (ie csv files) in one location , so if we are using relative path , becoz its not allowing us to set to a folder location , we are having one datasource for each dataset.
Can i set a folder path relatively than a file path.

Hi,<br />
<br />
You can set the path to anything you want by editing the XML, but that doesn't mean it'll actually work
<br />
<br />
Part of the problem is that the report engine can work from a stream, rather than an absolute file, so it can't have anything that is dependent on the filename.<br />
Fortunately, you can work around this with a script as long as the report context includes the full path to the file.<br />
Getting that report context set correctly can be awkward, and depends upon your deployment environment.<br />

I blogged about this a while back: <a class='bbc_url' href='

/>
For some reason I didn't put that on devshare, I'll do that later today.<br />
