Changing the MasterPage dynamically on pageBreak

Hello Community, 
 
This is my scenario: 
1. I have a table which flows into multiple pages 
2. I need to have different header and footer for the first and subsequent pages. 
3. I tried this.getStyle().masterPage = "NewMasterPage" in the onPageBreakEvent of the table but it didn't work. 
4. I tried inserting a label palette before this Table and associated the First Master Page to it and to the table I attached the New Master Page. However, this is resulting in a blank first page with the required header (as my label is empty) and actual data is coming up only from subsequent pages onwards. 
 
Need help on how to achieve this. I'm ready to experiment anything, just give it a try

Megha,

Changing the master page will not work after the beforeFactory event, so you have a couple of things you can try.

1 - use script to change the header and footer contents. With this approach you use script to change labels and the display property. You can not add new content but you can hide content.

2 - Break your table into two tables, both with the same data set. Filter the first one on row number (add computed column for this). Filter a number of rows that will show on the first page and assign a master page to the first table. Filter the second table on row num as well using > than the first table and assign a different master page for that table.

I got a roundabout solution for this problem. Thank you for your help. 
 
However, to make the page break events fire properly I've changed the integration code to use Run and Render separately. 
Below is the code that I'm using to instantiate the engine.

Hi Megha,

which version do you use? Had quite the same issue using BIRT 2.6.x. I hardly remember that there was a bug with page numbers if the page break interval of a table was set to 0.

I'm using 3.7. I'll see if the 0 interval is the problem. Thanks for the insight. 
 
But I have a new problem here. Whenever I try to move the: 
<pre class='_prettyXprint _lang-auto _linenums:0'>strTempOutputFileName</pre> created by the RenderTask to some other directory, I get an IOException saying that the file is already in use by some other process. I doubt its the RenderTask, but still guessing as I have done

renderTask.render();
renderTask.close();</pre> as well. 
 
Strangely, the first invocation goes fine, and I get this error only in subsequent runs. If I restart the application and re-run the same failed request, it goes fine again. 
 
I know I have missed something, but not sure what.
