Configuring BIRT Viewer for change in application war name

Hi,

I face this issue if I want to change the application URL.

org.eclipse.birt.report.exception.ViewerException: Fatal error occurred when try
to startup report engine.
at org.eclipse.birt.report.service.ReportEngineService.setEngineContext(
ReportEngineService.java:328)

Earlier we had the war name as abc. Hence we were able to access the application as http://localhost:8080/abc

But now it is required to change the application URL as http://localhost:8080/xyz/abc

To get this done, we generated war as xyz#abc.war
With this, we are able to access the application except for BIRT related part.

Can anyone help in knowing where we miss the configuration and what needs to be done.

We get teh below error while starting the Tomcat server. 
org.eclipse.birt.report.exception.ViewerException: Fatal error occurred when try 
to startup report engine. 
at org.eclipse.birt.report.service.ReportEngineService.setEngineContext( 
ReportEngineService.java:328) 
If I still proceed with the execution of application, it fails at the place where BirtEngine is created. 
Getting null pointer exception in below second line. 
 
IReportEngineFactory factory = (IReportEngineFactory) Platform 
.createFactoryObject(IReportEngineFactory.EXTENSION_REPORT_ENGINE_FACTORY); 
birtEngine = factory.createReportEngine(config); 
Please help if you have any idea about this. Thanks.

Unless you changed something within the webviewer example before you created your war file, there shouldn't be any changes you'd have to make when you change the name of the war. Did you change BIRT versions or anything? Or are you still using the same?

Nothing is changed in the applciation. We did not change the version also. 
The application works fine if the war name is not having # symbol. 
 
ex: abc.war works fine including BIRT and it is accessible with the URL <a class='bbc_url' href='http://localhost:8080/abc'>http://localhost:8080/abc</a> 
 
But the same application is not working for BIRT if the war name is changed as xyz#abc.war in order to access the URL as <a class='bbc_url' href='http://localhost:8080/xyz/abc'>http://localhost:8080/xyz/abc</a>

Then, can you avoid using the #?
