Hide entire row
briann
I found the visibility expression, and have it set to "true". When set to "true" the row is hidden. I want to hide the row when a specific text field is blank. I tried the following and several variations, but nothing seems to work. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
if (row["VLED13"]=="") {true}

Hi Briann,<br />
<br />
If you just want to get rid of rows that has "VLED13" as null, you can introduce a filter in dataSet and select only not null columns. Attached an image for your reference. If that is not what you are looking for and want to hide a row, you can do it with visibility expressions like:<br />
<pre class='_prettyXprint _lang-auto _linenums:0'>row["VLED13"]==null || row["VLED13"]==""</pre>
Attached is a design file, that hides all rows if OFFICECODE is 1.<br />
<br />
Hope this helps.<br />

Use the following expression:
BirtComp.equalTo(row["VLED13"], "")
This will do a string comparison and return TRUE if the two strings match, triggering the Visibility expression to hide the row. Its always better to use the BIRT Functions for cases like this.
