running sum

can any one please help me...!
i want to display the sum of the all cells from perticuler column to the footer......
how can i do this ...

On each page, you want the accumulation, SO FAR? Or you just want the total at the bottom of the report? Let me know. Also, let me know your BIRT version.

m using birt-runtime-3_7_1
and i jst want the addition of each cell of the column at the bottom....

To get the sum of a column in the footer, you simply need to drag an aggregation element from the palette into the footer, choose SUM as the aggregation function, and choose the column you want to add as the expression. This should show your total for the specified column. Hope this helps.

ya i tried this procedure but its not working in my problem.....
"select Count(*) as count from table where a = ? and b = ? and c= ?" this is my query which returns count (ex - 23)
i am taking this count on report but as u told for running sum i have to select column name for running sum....!
in that case i dont find the this column name in the expression drop down....
what should i do now...?

Thanks HANS now i can calculate the colum total but now the problem is that ..
resultent count is displaying in the header of the table and i want to display total count in the table footer
