BIRT + WAS 7 don't mix well together?

BIRT 3.7.2 (plugin) does not work with WAS7.0.17?

I can make original birt.war working with WAS7 but whenever adding jar file from project (build with java 5) it produces following stack trace. After adding project jar it does not even open test page.

The Web-inf library contains also these jars. jace.jar, log4j.jar and com.ibm.ws.admin.client_6.1.0.jar.

The integration and extending manual tells about this:
Before importing the BIRT source code into a workspace, check that the Java
compiler settings on the workspace are compatible with BIRT. The 2.6
version of the BIRT source code uses some features that are only present in
JDK version 1.5 and higher. Some plug-ins depend on other modules that
require Java version 1.5 and are not compatible with Java version 1.6.

I am not sure I understand. Does the birt.war file for 3.7.2 work?
