log files in /var/adm
skip11
Solaris 7, TS 5.5.2sp3, OD 56, DD 56
After an upgrade from 5.5.1 two new log files snuck into my /var/adm:
iwprocessd.log
iwprocoutput.log
Can anyone tell me what is writing these files, and even better, where
the config to change the log location is kept.
Thanks,

These logs would be created by the iwprocessd daemon.... new with TS 5.5.2 SP3. See release notes. Looking at the script which starts this process, iw-home/private/bin/iwprocdstart, /var/adm/... is hardcoded. Looks like in order to change the location would need to modify that file.
If someone else has changed another way, please let me know. We will need these files to go to our normal log directory as well.
Thanks,
Gwen

This is a known bug (Bug # 38769). This will be fixed in a future release.

Excellent. Thanks to all who posted. It actually needs changing in three files. I changed the location, bounced the server, and all is well.

ok, after editing the following files:
iwprocdstart
iwprocdstop
iwstart
and bouncing the server overnight iwprocess.log is now being written to a custom location.
iwprocoutput.log is not. An attempt to look up the bug posted above, found nothing. This log seems to be related to datadeploy as it looks very
similar to iwddd.log. What else needs to be done ? Anyone ?
Thanks,

thread closed. I'm pursuing this with support, and have been told that a fix
for 5.5.2 is in progress.
