Hi,

i have to generate 2 different kind of reports in single xls with 2 sheets.
is that possible in the eclipse BIRT design?

yes it is possible. You need another XLS-Emitter then the build-in from birt. Tribix for Example. At the point you want the Elements on the second sheet, you insert a Page Break.

I did a short review of the available Excel emitters as an introduction to my own:

If you want to be able to work with the output then I'd avoid Tribix. If you don't mind spending money use Arctorus (or Actuate 11 depending how much you want to spend and how much you want to get). If you are basically happy with the layout from the built-in emitter use Ramesh' <a class='bbc_url' href='http://code.google.com/a/eclipselabs.org/p/native-excel-emitter-birt-plugin/'>NativeExcelEmitter</a>. And if you want a completely different approach to layout try the <a class='bbc_url' href='http://www.spudsoft.co.uk/2011/10/the-spudsoft-birt-excel-emitters/'>SpudSoft emitters</a>. 
 
I think they all have multi-sheet support. 
 
At some point I should do a detailed comparison with a feature table and sample output from each one.
