Hi,

I'm using BIRT's report engine API within a spring application context. When running as a standalone process I'm able to access spring beans from reports contexts. When designing a report using the Eclipse designer we need access to the same spring beans. According to this post http://birtworld.blogspot.com/2009/11/calling-spring-objects-from-birt.html and http://www.eclipse.org/birt/phoenix/project/notable2.3M6.php#jump_5, we can configure the designer to use the custom application context (in the preview preferences page). However, the check box in the preview preferences page "use custom application context" is disabled. I have Eclipse 3.7.0 installed.

Could you please advise how can I configure the engine's application context when using the designer?
