How to pass connection to BIRT report
ashish13
Hi,
I am passing java.sql.Connection to BIRT report through below code.
con = getConnection(userId);
contextMap.put("oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver (v11.1)", con);
task.setAppContext(contextMap);
But its not taking the connection property from the AppContext and generating the report based on the default property set in data source during report design. Do i need to set the connection into property binding. If yes how ca i set?
Thanks,
Ashish

Hi Ashish13,
I would recommend a JNDI approach, but you could also do this with your approach, here is a article that explains how it can be achieved:

Another approach, which we use, is to modify the report design before processing.
This demands the fairly significant development of a report server to do it for you, but it means that the reports can be written without considering how the data source will be set up.
