I would like to look into the viability of creating an Ubuntu server based installation utility for the iServer installation, set-up and configuration.

From the existing linux installation documentation titled "installing-iserver-linux-unix" I can see in the architecture section that the iServer system has run-time dependencies on the following components:
Servlet Container, File Server, Relational Database and various other modules including xvfb, ia32-libs,
motif-clients and possibly a few others.

Ideally I would like to establish a .deb meta package for iServer that pulls in and installs these third party components separately and then installs iServer on top of these base level modules.

For a single host install this could be done via a .deb package definition. For a distributed iServer install we could define a set of Juju charms.

comments appreciated.
