Engine Thread-safe?

I am looking for official information (from doc or source) about thread-safing of BIRT engine.

The report engine is thread safe. You should only have a single ReportEngine instance per application, and the REportEngine spawns Tasks that can be used in multiple threads. So for a J2EE application, you would create a ReportEngine in the init function, and that engine should create Tasks in the doGet/doPost.
