Connect to different Orace Schema

How can I create a datasource to an Oracle database where the Schema is different compared to the user name.
I have to connect to a database schema with a different name.

I am using the following:

Driver Class: oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver ( v1.0)
Database URL: jdbc:oracle:thin:@****.****.****.****:1521:EMDSPROD
User Name: user1
Password: xxxxx
JNDI URL:

I have to connect to schema EMDS.

With the above settings the connection to the database was succesful, but no tables were found in the EMDS schema.

And you are sure that the tables in schema EMDS have granted access to user1?

If you log in to SQL*plus with user1, can you see the tables in schema EMDS?

If I use 'TOAD for Oracle' I can switch schema and see all the tables.
I have checked the access and user1 is fully granted.

Would it be possible to amend the Database URL to include the schema.
Currently it is only referring the database

There is no way to include the schema in the database URL. And it should not be necessary too.

So, in TOAD you actually logged on with user user1 and you were able to do a SELECT on a table in the EMDS schema, right?

That is correct.

Maybe there is some java coding to do via the script functionality just after the connection is made.

I don't know much about drivers, but I think you might need to update yours.
You have oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver ( v1.0)

If I take a look at our data source, we have oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver (v11.2)
Seems like your driver is a really old one?

And there really should be no extra work in accessing schemas that your login user has granted access to.

I have installed the latest version (v11.2) and I could select the tables.
