thanks..i got the pdf.but the pdf that is generated is not showing table contents ..........it is showing only table header and footer....

birtguru

i want to add different footer on first and second page.what shold i do?

JasonW

There are a couple of ways to change content in the page footer based on page number. For example if you have a label you could put a onrender script on it that has code like:

if( pageNumber > 1){
this.text = "Greater than 1";
}else{
this.text = "Page 1";
}

or you could use page variables and script:

thanks...
but the pdf that i have generated is not showing inner table contents.it works fine if i run it in design tool.but dont show any inner table contents when i run it through java application...

JasonW

Are you using separate run and render task? Can you post your code?

thanks Jason. I got it solved thanks.
but now i have another issue
i have tree like xml.here is my xml
<report>
<employee>

<info1>
<address>
<state>abc</state>
<country>xyz</country>
</address>
<department>dfg</department>
</info1>

<info2>
<address>
<state>abc</state>
<country>xyz</country>
</address>

<address1>
<state>abc</state>
<country>xyz</country>
</address1>

<department>dfg</department>
</info2>

</employee>

<employee>
<info1>
<address>
<state>yui</state>
<country>qwe</country>
</address>
<department>khj</department>
</info1>
</employee>

</report>

but an employee can have multiple info tags and within that info tag can have multiple addresses,even within that address can have multiple phone no...
then how can it be fittted in a single row?

birtguru

thanks for replying.
my code somthing like this.
i want footer of master page 1 on first page of my report and footer of second master page on second page of my report.
and on third page onwards i don't need any footer in my report.
i have a grid in footer.

JasonW

Swapping the master page based on page number is difficult. The only way I know to do this is to add a row count aggregation to the table and then filter the table to only show the number of row you want on the first page. Then assign the first master page to that table. Add an identical table but filter the row count to only show rows for page 2 and assign it to the second master page. If you could just use one master page you could use page scripts or onrender scripts to change specific values.

Jason

birtguru

but my content in the table is dynamic.there may be page break or may not be.
can you please provide some example..

JasonW

That makes it difficult. That rules out using two different master pages. Coould you get away with just changing the data values in the footer and not the sizes etc? If so let me know and I can build an example.

Jason

birtguru

I have not done that but my problem is different.
basically I am designing bill report
and in bill I have payment slip at the bottom of first page.when a user will pay the bill that slip must be teared.on the back side of that slip there is text.
I hope you are getting it.like our electricity or other bills.

in front footer there are payments and on backside there is text.
cant we change the footer grid at runtime on the basis of page number

JasonW

Take a look at the attached example.
Make sure you run this with separate run and render task. Ie /frameset mapping in viewer.

Jason

birtguru

thanks jason.i am not getting it.can you provide some other example.

JasonW

I am not sure what other example you need. Did you get the example to run?

Jason

birtguru

no jason i am not get it to run.it is a php file. I run it with wamp server.but i am not able to get any thing out of it.

JasonW

I am bit confused. Do you have BIRT running at all? What Java container are you running it in?
