how to add java script to the birt parameter

Hi all, 
 
I have a requirement that one of birt parameter has a sql query to get the values. if the Query returns null what is the i want to diplay an error message. is this possible in birt report? 
parameter properties 
Type is Dynamic 
Data Type is String

You want it to pop up an error while on the parameter page? If so, you may need to create your own parameter page to do this. I don't know that there's a way to check the values returned for a paramter.

Or are you wanting the report to display an error message if there are no values to select?

i am using the birt version "3.2.22". i want to display an error message on the attached screen shot red marked place. in the existing parameter screen only i want to display.

You want to display this in just a text box parameter, like highlighted above? If so, you'll probably have to create your own parameter page to do so. If it's a dynamic list parameter, you might be able to do something in your SQL if you're using it. If not, you're probably back to creating your own parameter page with the tag library and connecting to your database with javascript to find whether you need to display your error or not.
