Filter of a datacube also filters other datacubes linked to the same dataset ?

Hi All,

i am currently facing a strange behaviour with BIRT Designer 3.7.2, and i am wondering if it is normal or not...

I will take an example to describe.

I have a dataset retrieving a list of user demands with several columns of different types : enhancement, incident, request, project.

Linked to this dataset i have one datacube filtered on demand of type Enhancement & Project. I have another one linked to the same dataset on which i filtered on Incident and requests.

The issue i face is that the 2nd datacube is filtered in addition to the previous datacube conditions, meaning that i am trying to obtain incident & requests, into a list only containing project & enhancement...as a consequence i do not retrieve any data in my 2nd datacube.

An easy workaround is to filter into the crosstab and not in the datacubes anymore, but i am sure that in previous versions of Birt Designer i was not facing the issue. Is it a regression ? Is there any parameter i have checked inadvertently that could explain this behaviour?

You are correct. I just tried it in 3.7.2 and in 2.6.2. In 2.6.2, a second cube using the first dataset returns all values even if another cube uses the same dataset and has a filter. Please log a bug for this in the eclipse.org bugzilla and post the bug info in here for future reference. You might search the bugs real quick to see if it's already been filed, before filing. Thanks!
