value-of inside javascript

Hi!
I have a trouble with javascript when I use the clause <value-of>, e.g.,:

var x=<VALUE-OF>row["COLUMN_NAME"]</VALUE-OF>;

If the column type is an integer, its works fine, but if it is a String nothing happens and broke the javascript code after this line.

Try putting quotes around the <value-of> statement.

I meant to try: var x = "\"" + <value-of>row["COLUMN_NAME"]</value-of> + "\"";
