I am scheduling birt reports through window scheduler with help of following post

My birt runtime is 2.3.2 
But i am not able to generate the PDF output(output always come in HTML) .i have installed itext_1.5.4.jar and itextasian-1.5.2.jar file in 
 
C:\birt-runtime-2_3_2\birt-runtime-2_3_2\ReportEngine\plugins\com.lowagie.itext_1.5.4.v20080228\lib 
but of no use . 
 
Attached is my .bat file.Please help

Hi,

do not copy itext into birt runtime. It was necessary in very early versions of BIRT, but must not be done since BIRT 2.2 and can cause serious problems.

I m not quite sure but can you try to do a clean install of the runtime (without pasting external jars to runtime). In addition i think that the output format is case sensitive. Can you replace PDF with pdf (lowercase)

Thanks for reply...i changed PDF to .pdf but not getting desired output. 
i did some following changes since i was not getiing .pdf output (but i was getting output in html) 
1>made changes inside genReport.bat file so that it accesses the itext file .

HTML is the default and fallback for the output format. I m assuming that it only works for HTML because it is the fallback.

try
-format pdf (without a dot) the rest in the command line bat looks ok.

i tried that but didnt work.do u mean to say that it is not possible to get pdf output. should i look for some higher version where it is possible.

What i wanted to say is that you should not manually copy the itext jar files to the birt runtime folder.
Let me build an example for you. should i use birt 2.3.2 to build an example or any other version?

You got me wrong. PDF is possible even in the very first version of BIRT

So, what should i do to get the pdf output as this is very urgent ..... 
can you please design(make necessary changes) me a Birt runtime so that i get the desired output.

Hi,

sorry i was really busy in the last days.
I created a sample for you and uploaded it to my dropbox: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/21662858/birt-runtime 2_3_2.rar

It just runs the BIRT default sample report. If you want to run report on your database put the required JDBC driver in ReportEngine\plugins\org.eclipse.birt.report.data.oda.jdbc_2.3.2.r232_v20090212\drivers
do not change anything else (do not copy any other jar files).

Just run the genSamplePDF.bat to generate the default sample report as a PDF.
