how to redirect to iPortal from top level domain

Hi,

I'm running Actuate 11Sp3 on a windows 2003 server.
When I connect with a browser on "http://localhost/" then I get a "The page cannot be displayed" error due to A "Cannot find server or DNS Error"

When I put in the fully qualified address: "http://localhost:8700/iPortal" then I get the correct webpage.

How can I configure the system that "http://localhost/" is redirected to "http://localhost:8700/iPortal" ?

Hi Alliander,
You can set up a proxy server (like apache) that runs on the standard port 80 and redirects the url to Information Console. I have done this in the past using Apache and mod_jk connector. You can find more details regarding this connector here:

Information console uses Tomcat engine underneath, so other approach could be to run that application server itself on port 80. If you happen to take this apporach, you should change all the references of port 8700 to 80 in all configuration files associated with your installation of Actuate 11sp3.
