BIRT Report Viewer -Not able to View Reports

Hi,

We installed BIRT Eclipse 2.6 and my Desktop is under firewall settings.
We are not able to view the report output in Web Viewer when we run the report.
Its displays error message " Page can't be displayed". But when disconnect from network and run birt reports , the reports are displayed through birt Web Viewer.

Is there anyway we can view the reports when we connected network and under firewall settings.

Hi,

you have to know that the preview feature is accessing a local webserver (running in eclipse birt). Firewalls normally do not block local communication as far as i know because they do not listen to network traffic for localhost (but i m not sure about that!)

Java webservers do not like switching network on and off. Can you do a reboot of your machine. Enable network start eclipse birt and see if it works? Otherwise i would suggest to talk with someone knowing the firewall in depth to be able to deactivate blocking of local network traffic.
