Custom Exception Messages

Is there any way to customize the error / exception messages. Say for example, on validating the parameter and if it fails, the exception is thrown rather it should be customized message or alert message.

How do customize the error message. Any ideas / suggestions / references would be of great help.

Without modifying the viewer source code I do not think this will be easy. You can change the messages properties file to change the actual message though.
