How to create a report using XML datasource

Hi,

I need to create a XML data source in the report. Kindly provide me the steps how to create the XML data source.

Help me how to create the XML for database connection.

additional to this, i have one more question. How to create the dataset when we use the XML data source.
EX; select COL1,COL2 from table_name
Where can we write the query in birt reports, so that it can fetch resultsets.
