Creating 14 Text`s with 14 data set lines

hello dear birt community,

I am new at designing reports under birt and until yet I got no problems.
I want to create a predefined Text-layout with data-set rows inside and I want after running the report 14 different Text`s (cause of the 14 different lines in my data set).

my first try is a text element on a blank report binded with a Data Set containing data in form of 14 lines and 28 rows

for beginning i concentratet me on two rows in a simple textlayout:

Baustra?e: <VALUE-OF>row["BAUSTRASSE"]</VALUE-OF>
 
Bauort: <VALUE-OF>row["BAUORT"]</VALUE-OF>

now my problem: i get only one text including the first line.
how im gonna get my 14 text`s including my different 14 lines?
I searched for hours on google -> no help there
So now Im here searching for some little help, hoping i will get some.

If you're saying you want to see the value of 14 results from your dataset, you would need to create a table element and insert the dataSetRow of your data in the detail section. The table will automatically create a row for each result returned.

The easiest way to see how it's done is to drag your dataset onto your report design and it will automatically create the table for you. Then you can edit it how you like.

i dont want to see only the containings of my data set 
see: i have a text. for example: 
 
Dear >Name of the person<, 
 
Your last adress was >old adress< and your new adress is >new adress<. 
 
Thats the text (pretty simple example). 
Now I have a table on my data base which contains 3 rows named: Name of the Person; old adress; new adress. 
It has 14 columns. 
 
And now I want a text element (or something similar) on my report, which creates 14 different text`s. One for each coloumn. 
 
I already have a Data Source connected with my data base and i already have a Data Set containing the data I want. I also already binded the text element with the created Data Set. 
So if I type <VALUE-OF>row["Name of the person"]</VALUE-OF> in my text element and start report I get only the first column -> so there will only be one text

now my question: is it possible (and if yes how?) to create a text element (or something like this) which creates automatically that much text`s how i have columns on my data base table.

So, you have a column for each person, rather than a row for each person?

your right i have a row for each person -> i told you....bad english -.-* 
I was just confused cause when i am in the text element under "Dynamic Text" and click on the "<value-of>" -button, i click on "Available column bindings" -> "text" and then i double click on the column i want i get: 
<VALUE-OF>row["Name of the Person"]</VALUE-OF> 
but this is a column O.O thats why i thought: "ok the vocable is column not row" 
 
im realy sry 
 
but...did you have any solutions for my main problem ?

If you have data like: 
 
row | person | old address | new address 
1 | person1 | old add1 | new add1 
2 | person2 | old add2 | new add2 
... 
 
You could do like Tubal said and create a table attached to your dataSet. To do this, drag a table element from the palette into your design. Choose to have 1 detail row, 1 column, and select your dataSet from the drop down. Next, drag a text element from the palette to the detail cell of the table. In the text element, select HTML from the drop down at the top of the editor, then use the following text expression: 
 
<pre class='_prettyXprint _lang-auto _linenums:0'>
Dear <value-of>row["person"];</value-of>,

Your last adress was <value-of>row["old address"];</value-of> and your new adress is <value-of>row["new address"];</value-of>.
</pre>
 
This will create a row in your table for each person with each person's info inserted into this text. Hope this helps.

now i get the first person 14 times like:

You have a idea what i did wrong?

Does your data in your result set look like what I posted above? And you are using a table, right? Not a grid? Can you attach your design?

yes it looks the same and yes im using a table, not a grid, not a cross tab and not a list.

my design is pretty simple: there is only the table with one column and one detailrow.
and in that resulting field theres my text-element
there are two another fields: for header row and footer (im sure you know this)
and thats all.

my text element is binded with the data set, not the table (not possible for some reason...if i want to choose my table under "report item:" under "Binding" then there is just nothing shown....dont know if this is normal?)

That explains your issue. It seems that your table probably is bound to the dataSet, already, if you're getting the appropriate number of rows. The issue is that you have the text box bound to the dataSet. This will cause each text box to call the first value, since a text box cannot iterate through the result set. Try removing the dataSet from the text box and running it. If you get an error, delete it all and add a table from the palette again, making sure you select the dataSet in the wizard, then do not bind the text box to the dataSet. Let me know.
