sheet names in xls are not coming correctly

I want to dynamically render multiple sheets. in PDF it shows all correctly but in xls it always gives names incorrect if I omit one of the sheets. Please help

Different emitters handle sheet names differently, so which emitter are you using?

How do you omit a sheet?
The way in which you do it may affect the result.

using emiitter : com.actuate.birt.report.engine.emitter.xls_11.0.1.v20110216.jar

and using the visibility parameter to hide grid conditionally.

Ah, that's the commercial Actuate emitter, isn't it? 
That's the only one I have no experience of at all, sorry. 
Hopefully someone else will be along in a minute.
