Accending Bar chart
olivia08
I'm trying to plot my data on a bar chart where the previous value will be added to the current value. The dataset consists of two columns (month, value). Right now the chart plots the month on the X-axis and each bar represents the value for that month. However, would like for the bar to accend each month instead of just plotting the value for that month. For instance, if May = 100 & June = 250, then I want the May bar to plot 100 but the June bar to plot 350 (may + june) and so on. Any suggestions on how I can do that?

If your month sums are already computed before going into the chart, you could use the aggregation drop down next to your y-series in the chart wizard and choose to do a running sum. You'll need to make sure that your x-axis grouping is shut off, though. If it's turned on, the running sum will happen individually over each group. If you can't do this, using a table or crosstab as a source might work to do the calculations first. If you can't do that, we can probably manipulate the series values in your chart script. Let me know.
