Hello everyone,
Actually i used to develop BIRT report using BIRT 3.7.0. All was well, meaning that the reports were generated succesfully without any errors.
I just downloaded "eclipse-reporting-juno-win32" to develop BIRT report .
whereby i started using BIRT 4.2.0. On generating the existing Reports, i get the following errors :
-Failed to prepare the query execution for the data set:
and
- There are errors evaluating script "dimension["Date_CR"]["Month"]<=BirtDateTime.month(new Date(),1) && measure["Total_Amnt"]!=0":
null
The same reports are generated without errors when using BIRT 3.7.0.
I have recreated the report identically but the errors persists
Can anyone please help me on this because this is very important ?

Can you create a report in 3.7 that shows the issue you're talking about when you run it in 4.2, using the sample database, so I can run it and test? Thanks!

Hello thanks for replying,
well i recreated a sample report using BIRT 3.7 which consist of a dataset month and a datacube month only. I copied the same report on birt 4.2.0, well i worked fine.The database used is DB2 ,I am sorry i am not authorised to use any other tables other than this found in the database.
As a matter of fact i will try my best to explain to you the problems in much details as possible.
I really don't know where this error is coming from and is it that i have t o recreate the report once again using BIRT 4.2.0 to solve this issue (There are over 15 reports each consisting of around 4-5 datacubes).Recreating all these again will be very very time consuming.
Thanks again for the reply and i hope you understand me for not being able to recreate a report generating the errors.
One more thing, when i modify a report or the dataLibrary i get the alert message also (see attachment).
On running the reports on BIRT 4.2.0 , i get the following errors on each reports created on BIRT 3.7:

well i am able to post the xml codes for a birt Report which runs succesfully on BIRT 3.7 (created on 3.7) but yields an error when previewed on BIRT 4.2.0. I hope it is more clear to you to understand it more clearer. What i am not able to figure out out is whether the problem lies now sir

According to your error, you're reaching the maximum number of concurrent statements for your connection. You might take a look at this page to see if you can up the number of allowable statements for a connection:

As for the warning you get when you change a library or design, that is normal. It wants to let you know that the design will upgrade to the newest version, if you change it and will not be compatible backwards.

There are some queries yet again ,
-i observed that the design do change when working on BIRT 4.2.0 by considering the number of lines (XML-format)
- The real issue for me is how to make the report run successfully under BIRT 4.2.0? Actually i am running BIRT reports under DB2 using the following driver (datasource):
com.ibm.db2.jcc.DB2Driver ( v3.62)

Did you look at the link I posted above? Or is this a new issue? I would think if you were having a driver issue, you'd be getting a different error. If you design a simple report using your db2 database, without a cube, do you still get an error? Let me know.

I used this method to create some report concisting of different datasets respectively .
well, for some reports i found that, there was not a single error when i run the report using BIRT 4.2.0 is the error comming from datasets?
I also checked the link but to be true i didn't understand too much.Again, any hint for the problems faced.

I am getting the same error. Upgraded from 3.7 where joined datasets worked fine, now i am getting the same error as the DB2 error.<br />
org.eclipse.datatools.connectivity.oda.consumer.helper.OdaHelperException: Maximum active concurrent statements reached for this connection.<br />

This error is intermittent. One dataset on the report is joined to another. The second dataset tries to fire before the master dataset. I don't know how to get around this. It is a major issue to us.

You can make sure a dataSet fires before another by placing a text box bound to the first dataSet that needs to run, at the top of the report, or at least prior to the main dataSet.
