Exception Handling in birt viewer

Hi,

In my most of the reports date is coming from API . Some times these API throws excepiton(it could be due to various reasons ).
What i need is that to catch that exception and show some specfic message according to error
(not layout of table without data which it shows now).


i am using birt 3.7.2 with tomcat server.


Any help or hint will be appreciated.

How are you calling your data now? In BIRT script you can always wrap a call in a try/catch block. Eg in a fecth event handler:

if( iter.hasNext()){
var en = iter.next();
try{
row["col1"] = en.getValue();
}catch(e) {
row["col1"] = "error";
}
return true;
}else{
return false;
}
