Birt Viewer Frameset & Pass Parameters
PartnerTek
I want to use Birt Viewer Frameset For Pagination, Exporting etc.

Is there any way to use this Birt Viewer Frameset from Custom Servlet with
Birt Report Engine API ? (org.eclipse.birt.report.engine.api.IReportEngine) ?
Also tried (org.eclipse.birt.report.engine.api.IRunAndRenderTask) with various option and parameters but frameset didn't show up...

If there is no way to show frameset with custom servlet with birt engine api, then what if I use Birt Viewer servlet (org.eclipse.birt.report.servlet.ViewerServlet) how can i pass my own report parameters?
Because I do the same thing on same report with ViewerServlet, but no data in table. So I think my parameters do not pass through the report.

This url generated with Custom Servlet : No Frameset but data shows up:

/reporting-manager/reporting?companyId=2&startDate=1344200400000&endDate=1344200400000&startHour=1&endHour=2&interval=false&reportFrequency=DAILY&reportType=COMPANY

This url generated For Viewer Servlet : Frameset shows up but no data:

/reporting-manager/frameset?companyId=2&startDate=1344200400000&endDate=1344200400000&startHour=1&endHour=2&interval=false&reportFrequency=DAILY&reportType=COMPANY&__navigationbar=true&__toolbar=true&__showtitle=true&__masterpage=true&__report=report%2FCompanyDaily.rptdesign

Both servlet use same Report report/CompanyDaily.rptdesign
but behaves different.

If you're just using the viewer for pagination, and feel you need to handle generation via the report engine instead of having the viewer generate, they why not generate a rptdocument using the report engine's RunTask and forward a request to the frameset servlet to invoke the viewer specifying the rptdocument?
Be careful here, you could end up with two instances of the report engine running.
