Birt Runtime Environment - Library Jars
acerberus
Hi,

I am currently trying to better understand the Birt runtime environment. The ReportEngine comes with 80 jars many of which seem to be dependencies like batik or apache commons. Many of the jars seem, however, to have been repackaged and signed with a "birt signature".
Further there seem to be additional information in the jars which I presume are needed for the OSGI framework.
In our application we have several library jars already loaded and currently encounter problems with incorporating apache POI and BIRT into our application at the same time. The problem seems to be two contradicting signatures:

"org.apache.poi.ss.usermodel.SheetConditionalFormatting"'s signer information does not match signer information of other classes in the same package

My question is, which of the jars are actually needed to render reports and is it safe to replace the "library" jars by the original vendor versions?

Kind regards
What jars are needed depend on what functions and what formats you use in the reports. In most cases you can remove BIRT versions of libs if they are the same as you already using. If you are worried about it you can always switch to the OSGi version of the runtime and use both.
