Redirect to another BIRT report

Dears,

I have a requirement for some reports, where users will be redirect from one report to another based on some parameter values.

I googled and found that there is a function for redirection in BIRT:

var temp = new String(location.href);
location.replace("http://serverName:port/appName/RedirectReport.jsp?report=SLA_Changes2.rptdesign");

Now redirection to the required report "SLA_Changes2.rptdesign" done successfully.

But i found what it seems like a limitation on location.replace()function as i need to send some parameter values with this URL. But if i wrote something like below in URL, redirection failed and the same report (origin) will loaded.

location.replace("http://serverName:port/appName/RedirectReport.jsp?report=SLA_Changes2.rptdesign&organization="+reportContext.getParameterValue("Org"));

Only works with static values for parameters like below, but the parameter values for sure will be dynamic!!!

location.replace("http:/serverName:port/appName/RedirectReport.jsp?report=SLA_Changes2.rptdesign&Org=ABC");

Please advise.

Thanks for the idea, I already worked a lot with drill-through option for hyperlinks but it is good also to know how to script it on the fly. But for sorry it doesn't serve the idea I?m working on.

In my case I want to forward the user directly to another report based on parameter values (No link need to be clicked), as I mentioned on my earlier post that I?m able to redirect to the correct report but how to pass the dynamic parameter values?!!!

You can use the <value-of></value-of> tags in an HTML textbox to get the values from the other report using the URL.<br />

That would be placed into the textbox -- report.rptdesign is the name of the report passing along the data
