How to add extra dummy dataset row and use it in Chart
lnallamalli
Hi,
How to add extra dataset row dynamically and use this in pie chart.
Example:
My result set from a DataSet
Type Scheduled Completed Outstanding
1. A 13 10 3
2. B 35 25 10
3. C 22 18 4
4. D 98 75 23
Total outstanindg ==> 40 (Aggregated sum)
I need to show pie chart
Completed A, B, C, D and "Total outstanding"
I am able to pass Completed A, B, C, D only
Couldn't pass "Total outstanding"
Can anyone help us how to solve this problem.
Appreciate your help
Thanks,
Prasad

How are you aggregating the sum? If you create a computed column in your dataset you can pass that value to your pie chart just like it's another row in the dataset table.

Hi clark,
Thanks for your response.
I am aggregating at data column binding.
My requirement is simple.
"Type" "Scheduled" "Completed" "Outstanding"
A 13 10 3
B 35 25 10
C 22 18 4
D 98 75 23
I am getting above 4 rows from data set and i am creating "Total outstanding"(3+10+4+23 = 40) from Binding tab which will be showing under data column binding.
Now, i am creating a pie chart which should show "Completed A" (10), "Completed B" (25), "Completed C" (18), "Completed D" (75) and should also show "Total outstanding" (40)
When creating a pie chart, i am able to add series : row["Completed"] and category : row["Type"]
and couldn't add "Total outstanding" to pie chart.
Could you help me how to add aggregated value to the pie chart along with detailed rows. If possible could you provide sample report
Thanks,
Prasad

From what you're trying to do it sounds like you may need to use script to create the pie chart slice. Have a look at <a class='bbc_url' href='

devShare post</a>. It'll show you how to add a slice to a pie chart from script.
