Translation text from my own resource bundle
bibliobirt
Hi All
In our application translation text resides in DB. I tried to exchange the default resource bundle with my resource bundle that I built for DB, but didn't see a way to do that without current APIs. Is there some way to achieve that?
Other option that I tried was to add handler to all text fields requiring translation. But it will be helpful to do it the traditional way.
Thanks

How do you have your translations in the DB? Are all the different locales in different db tables?

We have a single table, with key columns as language, country, functional-group and tenant(we have multi-tenant env), with a fallback tenant, which serves most of the data. The translation text can be provided/updated through a UI.
In corresponding operation's web-app, we would keep the data in cached bundles, which gets updated with updates from UI. We were planning to remote the operation's cache access through JNDI and provide a bundle or individual translation text to the report.

You can write your own resource locator but you'd have to return a URL for the specific resources. It might not work with the normal resources that way but you can try. You can also file an enhancement request.
