Hi All,

I have been working on a hierarchical report for over a week now (about 50 hours of work at least). I am trying to create a report with a hierarchical tree type structure / output. I have written a bunch of code within the report to get what i think may be the right data into a scripted data set (which I have done successfully), however I have failed to accomplish what I set out to do, which is to create the output in Figure 3 below. I feel like I may have reached the limits of what BIRT can do and I am now at a point where I need to decide if this project is a go or no go.

I am hoping the someone can look over what I am trying to do and what I have already done and perhaps help me bring this to completion or if not possible, let me know it's not possible so that I can move on. I have spent over a day cleaning up my sample data / design file to post here. I even used the top posters of this forum for the example hierarchical structure sample data.

Basically I start out with name / hierarchy (manager) pair and from this build a scripted data set that has what level (which is dynamic - number of levels will fluctuate) in the hierarchy a person is in, if they have subordinates and then a comma separated list of the total members / subordinates that exist in their org / branch of the tree. All of this is working. I just can't figure out at this point how to get from Figure 1 below to Figure 3. I realize very clearly that I am not the best BIRT designer on the planet and hope that a BIRT **** out there will be able to help me. LOL
Attached is the sample data and the design file. I am hoping that if what I am trying to do is possible, someone can use the attached design file and create a working example for me.
Thanks
