Asthetic issues with crosstabs?

Here is the layout of my report so far:

<img src='http://i.stack.imgur.com/k5pah.png' alt='Posted Image' class='bbc_img' />

Here is what I am working toward.
<img src='http://i.stack.imgur.com/ptAkN.png' alt='Posted Image' class='bbc_img' />

There are a few problems:
-Could I get a repeating header for each Dress (Women's Dress, Women's Sportswear rows).
For each of these, I'd like Women's "" to appear in the header, which is slightly different than excel version.

Also, the product classes need to be below Women's "", the way it is doing it wastes too much space. In addition, the first 3 columns in general are too long. I tried changing column width but this had no effect. Why are they so long?

Thanks

<a class='bbc_url' href='http://www.birt-exchange.org/org/devshare/designing-birt-reports/1550-repeat-crosstab-header-after-n-rows/'>This devshare</a> is a good example on how to repeat crosstab headers. You might take a look at it and see if it helps with what you're trying to do. You can use the same idea for groups instead of N rows so it'll repeat with each group. In that example the header repeats ever N rows.

With the size of the cell you'd just need to set the width of the cell that the data element is in.
