Multisheets in birt runtime SP3
XFabien
Hello,
Is it possible to generate the rapport to XLS with multisheets by the Actuate birt SP3 runtime?
I know that we can export the report to XLS with multisheets by the Web Viewer, but I want to set this value to my framework.
Thanks to you all.

For every page rendered, the Actuate Excel Emitter will generate a new Excel sheet unless specified.

The Actuate BIRT Engine Runtime for Excel Export sets the multiple sheet option to true by default.

ConfigurableOption multipleSheet = new ConfigurableOption("excelRenderOption.multipleSheet");
..
multipleSheet.setDefaultValue(Boolean.TRUE);

In your RunAndRender or Render task, you can set the option to false, if desired:

EXCELRenderOption options = new EXCELRenderOption();
options.setOption ("multipleSheet", false);
task.setRenderOption(options);

Note that it is possible to rename your exported sheets in your design. In onPageBreak, you can set the sheet name:

reportContext.setPageVariable( reportContext.PAGE_VAR_PAGE_LABEL, this.getValue() );

Thank you very much cwong.

Does that means if I generate a XLS file from the engine Birt RunTime, and if I have added some page break in the report, the XLS file will be multisheets ?

Thanks for the confirmation.

In the Actuate commercial offering of BIRT (not open source BIRT), there are additional options available when Exporting Content to Excel -- one of those is the multi-sheet option. For every page generated, there will be a corresponding sheet. As previously mentioned, you have the ability to disable if required.
