How to handle empty values in a line chart

I have a chart in my report that makes use of a cross tab to get data to populate in it. Now my cross tab has some empty values in it for which i have selected an option in actuate that fills those empty spaces in the cross tab as 0. However when my chart is generated it doesnt seem to consider these 0s and hence there are broken chart lines in my chart. I want a continuous representation of the data in my cross tab in the chart including the 0s that actuate inserts in the cross tab when it finds empty value. Could anyone please help me in this.
