BIRT Report dosn't work in an LINUX app server
Go forward
I have made a report under Windows environnement using Report Designer 3.7 and Birt_runtime 4.2 and Tomcat 6 as app server.
It work fine in localhost on windows with this url :

http://localhost:8080/Birt-viewer/frameset?__report=the_path_to_the_rptdesign_file/synthese.rptdesign&ID_geom_zonage=217169

But when I deployed Tomcat and my Birt_runtime on Linux :
once I put the url:
hhtp://10.1.0.26:8286/Birt-viewer/frameset?__report=the_path_to_the_rptdesign_file/synthese.rptdesign&ID_geom_zonage=217169

it shows me :

org.eclipse.birt.report.exception.ViewerValidationException: The parameter "ID_geom_zonage" cannot be blank.

with the following Stack trace :

org.eclipse.birt.report.exception.ViewerValidationException: The parameter "ID_geom_zonage" cannot be blank.

Is tomcat on your linux box version 6 also? You could try putting quotes around the parameter value.

A troubleshooting step to try is to test the example report (with a parameter) that is shipped with the WebViewerExample.

I'm assuming that you copied the WebViewerExample into your Tomcat 6's webapp directory and renamed it to "Birt-viewer". So in your case, you can try the sample OOTB report on your Linux server:

http://10.1.0.26:8286/Birt-viewer/frameset?__report=test.rptdesign&sample=my+parameter

You may want to attach your .rptdesign if the sample report is working.

Another troubleshooting step (since you're designing in BIRT 3.7) is to use the latest BIRT 3.7.2 Runtime and see if you see the error.

yeah the Linux's Tomcat version is 6.
I did change the version of Birt-runtime and place the report in the new webviewerexample called Birt-viewer
but I can't acces in localhost to the report !
http://localhost:8080/Birt-viewer/frameset?__report= anciennete.rptdesign&ID_geom_zonage=217169

From localhost I can acces to the test.rptdesign but not to myreport design !!

In the link you provided above:
/>

There is a space (%20) in the link. You should remove this space and verify the name of the .rptdesign.
