Is it possible to use SQL Server Analysis Services as Data Source?

Hi,
As the title says.
I didn't find any useful solution for this.

Hi Raphael -<br />
<br />
I haven't tried it yet but it looks like you could use olap4j to connect to SQL Server Analysis Services as scripted data source <a class='bbc_url' href='

a look at this link</a>

Thank you for your response!<br />

I tried to get a dataset out of our dwh with the olap4j driver, but without success.

There are a couple of ways that shol let you pull data from SSAS, but none of them will do what's really needed, so I haven't tried them.
What's really needed is for h BIRT cross tab to work with external cubes - so it understands the dimensions of the daa in SSAS and can generate appropriate queries based on the cross tab design.
This seems to be architecturally possible, but a lot of work that no one has volunteered to o yet.
If you are happy not being able to design your cube query with BIRT then the question becomes - can you pull the data you want from SSAS using Java?
If you can get the daa using Java then it can be integrated into BIRT.
My approach would be to build a little test platform to play with getting data from SSAS, and then to transpose the logic from there either to a scripted daa set or to a new data source.
